What to do on a rainy/windy day?

Even if you choose to travel to the Maldives during the high season, you can still "risk" hitting some bad weather days. If it's very windy, tours are often cancelled, whereas if it's just raining they can often go on tours. it also depends on the tour in question, as some are more complicated than others in terms of crossing channels between the different atolls (e.g. the whale shark tour)๐ŸŒง๏ธ But what else can you do on a rainy/windy day - we will give our suggestions further down in the text.

We usually recommend 7-10 days on Maafushi, so you're pretty much covered in terms of wind and weather. but of course also so you can get as many of the experiences both above and below the water that you've probably come for. โœจ

If it's raining/windy, you can spend your time in various small souvenir shops, try some water sports, go to restaurants/cafรฉs and play games or just eat, have a cup of coffee etc ๐ŸŽฒ

There are also various spa/wellness options on the island that you can take advantage of if you fancy a massage, manicure or various facials ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿง–๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Of course, you can always go to the beach and swim, but you might want to bring a waterproof bag for your belongings. If you want to do some snorkelling, you can put on a t-shirt and some shorts and head to the local beach on the other side of the park where you can snorkel. The snorkelling is a bit better on this side of the island, rather than the bikini beach๐Ÿ ๐ŸŸ

You can sometimes dive, even if the weather above the surface of the water is miserable, it's not necessarily the same below sea level๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿคฟ

You can use the time to plan how you want to spend your holiday. Of course, you can also watch a film/series or read a book/write a diary, listen to podcasts, exercise, play football on the island, etc ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽง๐ŸŽฌ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽต

We are thinking of creating a "KIDS" club, which of course we need to get established and when it is in place, it is also an opportunity on a rainy/windy day for entertainment. It can be anything from colouring drawings, jewellery courses, playing games, volleyball tournaments, building lego etc ๐ŸŽจ

We'll also be working with Dak Wichangoen, who is a judge on Masterchef Denmark and a former Michelin-starred chef and head chef at the restaurant, Kiin Kiin. The plan is for her to teach our kitchen staff about various dishes, flavours, presentation, other ideas, etc. In addition, we would like to welcome our guests "behind the scenes" and teach them something about ovenstรฅende๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿณ๐Ÿœ๐Ÿฅ—๐ŸŒฎ
