A friendship that developed into a collaboration

How we met our partner. Ali, who owns Shadowpalm with his brother Mohammed, we met on the bikini beach on Maafushi 6 years ago. Back then, there weren't as many tour companies on the island as there are now. They would walk around the beach with flyers and talk to the guests who were there to attract customers. It worked very well and to this day they have a thriving business with both new and old customers who come to Maafushi just to go on a tour with them.

We tried several different tour companies back then, but quickly realised who and what we preferred.

The whole Shadowpalm team were so good to our youngest son at the time and he liked them so much. We didn't bring the girls on our first trip to Maafushi, but Jane's parents did. We agreed to go back to Maafushi to show them the island, give them all the experiences and make some new ones. Because of course our girls had to experience this too. It was an unforgettable experience that we had then and it has been every time we've been there since!

We then went on several trips with Shadowpalm, both private trips, but also with other tourists on the boat. We then kept in touch with them and developed a very strong friendship, which has now developed into a collaboration that we are all very happy about. 💌🇲🇻

We couldn't have done all this without Ali, his family and of course our own family, business back home, our employees etc. - Hard work pays off 😮‍💨😍

There has been a lot of copy-paste around the island, both in terms of restaurants, watersports centres and tour agencies. However, we will try to stand out with quality, interior design and the restaurant/bakery. New places keep opening and the island is getting bigger every time we visit. Just as Shadowpalm tries to stand out as much as possible in terms of boats, tours, food, equipment in the form of gopro, professional camera, etc
